Taiwan - demonstrations
Major political rallies will begin on September 9, 2006 outside the Presidential Palace in Taipei. The areas affected will include the Kategalan Boulevard between Guan-yuan Road and Chong-chin South Road and Huai-Ning Street between Guai-yang Street and Pao-chin Road. There will be traffic disruptions in the area and, while rallies in Taiwan tend to be peaceful, Canadians are reminded that there is potential for conflict. Canadians should exercise caution, avoid large gatherings and carefully monitor events through the media.
